Avery Osajima is a queer yonsei handpoke artist from the Inland Empire area of Southern California.

As a self-taught artist, her practice was very much loved into being by the trust of her community and she will never forget it. Her favorite projects involve working with clients to translate stories, intentions, reminders, legends, and ancestral memories into tattoo form. She is most interested in creating tattoo spaces that even her child self would feel comfy in, and in building the capacity of other young QTPOC to be able to do the same.

She feels proud of her tiny strong hands and when her clients tell her that their mama likes their new tattoo. She has never made a tattoo with a machine.
